A further 226 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the Republic, as well as six more deaths.

This brings the total number of cases here to 70,930 while the total number of deaths is now 2,028.

Of the 226 confirmed cases, 64 occurred in Dublin, 41 in Donegal, 23 in Tipperary. 13 in Limerick and 12 in Wicklow.

As of 2pm on Tuesday, there were 292 people in hospital with confirmed COVID, 36 of whom were in ICU. There had been 18 additional hospitalisations in the previous 24 hours.

The 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 of the population in the 14 days up to midnight on November 23 was 107.8 nationally. However 11 counties were at or above this national average, with Donegal the worst affected, at 240 per 100,000, followed by Louth (211.8) and Limerick (192.4).

The counties with the lowest 14-day incidence rate were Wexford (36.7), Laois (49.6) and Kerry (60.9). These three counties, along with nine others, recorded less than five cases in the 24-hour period up to midnight on November 23.

Meanwhile, four counties recorded zero cases in the 24 hours up to midnight on November 23 - Roscommon, Offaly, Sligo and Leitrim.
