The Make-A-Wish charity has said it is on target to increase the number of wishes it grants to sick children by 60% this year.
Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children aged between three and 17 who are living with life-threatening medical conditions. It has been running in Ireland since 1992.
This year, it set a target of granting 210 wishes to children and according to the charity, it has just 32 wishes left to book to reach this record target.
"This year our plan was to increase the number of wishes granted to children with life threatening illnesses by 60%. We are delighted we will meet this target," commented the charity's CEO, Susan O'Dwyer.
Meanwhile, the charity has also announced its latest ambassador - chef, food writer and TV presenter, Clodagh McKenna. She will host a dinner in aid of the charity at her restaurant, Clodagh's Kitchen, in Blackrock in Dublin on November 28. Tickets for the dinner can be purchased at reservations@clodaghmckenna.com
