A further three people with COVID-19 have died in the Republic.

One death that had previously been classed as COVID-related has been denotified, so the total number of deaths now stands at 1,705.

A further 13 cases of the virus have also been confirmed, while one has been denotified, bringing the total number of cases here to 25,250.

Data from the Health Protection Surveillance Centre shows that of the 25,237 cases reported to it as of midnight on June 10, 3,275 (13%) have been hospitalised and of these, 415 have been admitted to ICU.

Currently, there are 83 people in hospital with confirmed COVID-19, including 28 in ICU.

"The COVID-19 virus will continue to impact on the way we move about our daily lives for the foreseeable future, however we have already witnessed how our collective action can control the spread of the virus.

"By continuing to work together and implementing our new behaviours, we can continue to limit the spread of the disease," commented the Department of Health's chief medical officer, Dr Tony Holohan.
