Angela Kerins, the embattled CEO of Rehab, is to quit her post.
She is stepping down following public controversy over her remuneration and that of other senior executives in the Rehab group and over Rehab's level of communication with the Dail Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on its finances.
Ms Kerins recently revealed she was on a salary of €240,000.
She was due to appear again before the PAC next week.
Frank Flannery, a director of the Rehab group and Fine Gael adviser, recently stepped down from the Rehab board.
