Public urged to talk about mental health
August 15, 2017

Members of the public are being encouraged to come together and talk about mental health over a cup of tea during the month of September.
The month marks Suicide or Survive's (SOS) annual National Tea Break campaign, which encourages families, friends, colleagues and the wider community to come together and talk, and raise much needed funds for the charity.
SOS was founded in 2003 and it is dedicated to breaking down the stigma associated with mental health. It provides a range of innovative programmes that include tips, tools and techniques, which aim to help people who may be struggling.
World Suicide Prevention Day takes place on September 10, however the charity has decided to dedicate the whole month of September to encouraging people to talk about mental health, rather than just focusing on one day.
Anyone interested in getting involved can register here and download a pack that includes everything they need to host a successful tea break. All funds raised will be invested in delivering SOS programmes nationwide.
