The vast majority of GPs are now charging under €60 for a consultation, according to our latest reader's poll.
Our latest poll shows that GP fee levels have dropped over the past three years.
We asked readers what they were charged on their most recent GP visit.
Sixty-three per cent said they were charged between €50 and €59, while 21% said they were charged under €50.
Fourteen per cent said their GP charged between €60 and €69.
Two per cent said their GP charged €70 or over.
According to our latest poll, 84% of GPs in all are now charging under €60 for a consultation.
The latest poll shows that some GPs have dropped their fees to below the €60 mark.
Our readers' poll back in mid-2010 showed that 24% of GPs were charging between €60 and €69, 56% were charging between €50 and €59 and 17% were charging under €50.
The poll indicates that the recession and people's abilty to pay has impacted on GP fees in recent years, although the proportion of doctors dropping their prices has not been as dramatic as many might have expected.
