Open day on Crohn's and colitis

Patients, families and friends are invited to attend an Open Day on Inflammatory Bowel Disease, which includes colitis and Crohn's disease, in Cork this Saturday afternoon, February 1.
The open day will be chaired by Professor Fergus Shanahan, Professor of Medicine, University College Cork, Consultant Gastroenterologist, Cork University Hospital and Director, Alimentary Pharmabiotic Centre.
The 'What's new in Inflammatory Bowel Disease' Open Day will address topics such as new drugs, new diagnostics, new research, stress, the microbiota, metabolism, diet and exercise.
The Open Day will take place on Saturday February 1 from 2.00 - 4.00 pm the Main Lecture Theatre, Cork University Hospital.
The Open Day is hosted by UCC Department of Medicine and the Alimentary Pharmabiotic Centre, a UCC/Teagasc/CIT Research Centre funded by Science Foundation Ireland and industry, focusing on gastrointestinal health and development of new therapies for debilitating disorders such as Crohn's disease and colitis (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)and food poisoning http://apc.ucc.ie
