No new deaths from COVID-19 have been reported in the Republic.

Four deaths that had previously been classed as COVID-related have been denotified, so the number of deaths here currently stands at 1,738.

Eleven new cases of the virus have also been confirmed, while seven have been denotified, bringing the total number of cases here to 25,542.

Over 478,000 tests have been carried out so far, including over 44,000 in the last week.

"A key element of our response to COVID-19 is ensuring that any person experiencing symptoms comes forward for testing. Please do not adopt a 'wait-and-see' approach. Instead isolate yourself and contact your GP without delay," commented the Department of Health's acting chief medical officer, Dr Ronan Glynn.

Symptoms to watch out for are a cough, shortness of breath, fever, a loss of your sense of smell and/or a loss of your sense of taste.

Meanwhile, over 860,000 people have already downloaded the new COVID Tracker app, which was only launched on Tuesday (for more on this, see here).
