An investigation has been launched into the flooding that occurred last night at Letterkenny General Hospital following torrential rain.
The road and car park adjacent to the emergency department became flooded and a low level of water leaked into the ED's reception and admin areas.
The hospital's ED went off call for three hours last night to expedite the clean-up, after which, the hospital said, services returned to normal.
This is the second time in a year that Letterkenny Hospital has been flooded. The flooding last year caused €25 million worth of damage. The flooding on this occasion was less severe.
