-
The HSE has launched a new support network for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) employees.
The aim of the HSE LGBTI and Allies Network is to create an inclusive workplace, which welcomes and supports all employees, ensuring that they can participate fully in the workforce.
"Employees of the health service bring a range of skills, talents, diverse thinking and experience to the organisation. We are committed to creating a positive working environment for all staff. We want to ensure that all employees are respected, valued and can reach their full potential," commented HSE director general, Tony O'Brien.
According to the HSE's national director of human resources, Rosarii Mannion, the HSE wants to promote a workplace that is free from discrimination.
"The network will play an important role in creating a positive work environment where homophobic and transphobic bullying and harassment is prohibited," she insisted.
The launch of the network has been led by the Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Unit of the HSE's human resources division.
