Faking it in bed 'a waste of time'

Are you somebody who fakes it in bed? You may be wasting your time as a new study has found that your sexual partner can probably tell if you are sexually satisfied or not.
According to Canadian researchers, on average, both men and women ‘have fairly accurate and unbiased perceptions of their partners' sexual satisfaction'.
The study involved 84 couples. Each couple was separated and asked to answer questions about issues such as sexual satisfaction, relationship satisfaction, sexual communication and levels of commitment.
"We found that having good communication about sexual issues helped participants to understand their partners' sexual satisfaction. However, even if sexual communication was lacking, a person could still be fairly accurate in gauging his or her partner's sexual satisfaction if he or she was able to read emotions well," said the researchers from the University of Waterloo in Ontario.
They pointed out that couples who are having sex develop what is known as a ‘sexual script', which acts as guidelines for their sexual behaviour.
"Over time, a couple will develop sexual routines. We believe that having the ability to accurately gauge each other's sexual satisfaction will help partners to develop sexual scripts that they both enjoy. Specifically, being able to tell if their partners are sexually satisfied will help people decide whether to stick with a current routine or try something new," the researchers said.
Details of their findings are published in the journal, Archives of Sexual Behaviour.
