€400,000 paid to ex-Rehab chief's firm
April 10, 2014
-
Former Rehab CEO Frank Flannery or his consultancy firm was paid €400,000 in consultancy fees between 2007 and 2013, the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has been told.
The PAC was told the work had been commissioned by former Rehab CEO Angela Kerins.
Rehab Finance Director Keith Poole told the PAC today that the consultancy firm, Laragh Consulting appears to have been used for, among other things, international representation for Rehab, and for lobbying on issues such as the charitable lottery fund.
The PAC was told Mr Flannery and Ms Kerins had told Rehab that they would not give it with permission to release details of their salary, bonuses or pension arrangements at the hearing.
Neither appeared at today's PAC hearing.
Rehab Chairman Brian Kerr admitted that the response of the Rehab board to the payments controversies had been inadequate.
He said Rehab had now started a serious process of transformation and change, but admitted his would not be achieved overnight.
