The chief executive of the Central Remedial Clinic (CRC) has resigned following the controversy over top-up payments at the clinic,

Brian Conlon took up the post in July of this year having previously served as CEO of the Mater Hospital.

The CRC recently confirmed that  some of the money being rised by its fundraising arm, CRC was being used to top up the salaries of some of senior staff.

The top-ups did not comply with official pay policy.
