Almost 60% of adults in Ireland felt that they were being fully compliant with the COVID-19 restrictions that were in place before May 18. However just 6% feel that they are being compliant since the easing of those restrictions on May 18, a new survey has found.

According to the findings, 59% of adults felt that they were being fully compliant with the restrictions prior to the start of phase 1 of the Government's plan to reopen society and business, while 29% felt they were mostly compliant.

However at the same time, just 12% of respondents felt that people in their local area were being fully compliant before May 18, while 36% felt that others were being mostly compliant.

On Monday, May 18, phase 1 of the Government's plan to ease restrictions came into force and after that date, just 6% of adults felt that they were being fully compliant with the rules, while 22% said they were mostly compliant.

Meanwhile, 26% feel that other people have been mainly compliant since restrictions were eased on May 18.

The survey involved over 1,000 adults and was carried out by iReach between May 21-27.
