Big jump in tummy tuck enquiries

Enquiries about tummy tucks jumped by almost 400% in Ireland last year, new statistics suggest.
According to the figures, enquiries about a full abdominoplasty, better known as a tummy tuck, rose by 387% in 2014. This procedure costs an average of over €4,500 and requires at least a two-week recovery period.
The highest number of enquiries overall related to breast implants. The average cost of such a procedure is more than €4,200. Meanwhile, enquiries for breast lifts jumped by 215% during 2014.
The number of enquiries into rhinoplasty (nose jobs) also rose significantly - by 171% - over the last year.
Other procedures which recorded a rise in enquiries included brow lift (167% increase), eye lid surgery (150%) and buccal fat (chubby cheeks) removal (100%).
Enquiries bout fat transfer - where fat is removed from one part of the body and injected into another part - fell by 75%.
