Laya Healthcare is about to announce premium increases of 20 per cent on its health insurance policies from March.

This follows a 3% premium increase announced by the VHI yesterday.

This is the third price hike Laya has imposed in just over a year.

Health insurers are being hit by a number of factors including higher costs for covering private patients in public hospitals, an increase in Government levies, and medical inflation.
