A further 552 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the Republic, as well as two more deaths.

This brings the total number of cases here to 62,002, while the total number of deaths is now 1,915.

Of the 552 confirmed cases, 173 occurred in Dublin, 86 in Cork, 40 in Limerick and 30 in Donegal.

As of 2pm on Sunday, there were 330 people in hospital with confirmed COVID, 47 of whom were in ICU. There had been 17 additional hospitalisations in the previous 24 hours.

The 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 of the population in the 14 days up to midnight on October 31 was 253.5 nationally. While this is the lowest 14-day incidence rate in weeks, 11 counties were still above this national average, with Cavan the worst affected, at 590.7 per 100,000, followed by Meath (474.3), Sligo (360.1) and Donegal (321).

The counties with the lowest 14-day incidence rate were Leitrim (106.1), Wicklow (115.9) and Tipperary (130.4).

Meanwhile, a further 685 new cases of the virus were also reported in Northern Ireland earlier on Sunday, bringing the total number of cases on the island of Ireland to 101,118.
