As of March 6, 523,069 doses of the COVID vaccine have been administered, including over 373,000 first doses.
The 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 of the population up to midnight on March 8 was 161.3 per 100,000, however nine counties were above this figure, with Longford the worst affected (43.7), followed by Offaly (330.9) and Westmeath (243.3).

Earlier, the CEO of the HSE, Paul Reid, told an Oireachtas Committee on Health that 1.1 million vaccine doses are likely to arrive in Ireland during the first quarter of the year, which is less than the 1.24 million that was expected.
He said that there has been "high levels of frustration" related to the supply problems, however this has been an EU-wide problem, and he expects things to improve in the second quarter.
