2,006 beds closed - INMO

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation says there are currently 2006 closed beds in acute hospitals and long-stay institutions
Figures released at the INMO's annual delegate meeting in Kilkenny show that among the closed beds are 62 at Beaumont Hospital and 26 at Tallaght Hospital in Dublin.
Bed closures outside Dublin include 121 at Louth County Hospital and 56 at Monaghan General Hospital, according to the INMO.
INMO figures also show that while there has been a decrease of 8% in ED patient trolley numbers between 2013 and 2014, since 2007, trolley numbers have increased overall by 14%.
