Health Minister James Reilly says he hopes the promised legisltion on abortion will be passed by the summer.

According to the Minister, a memo on policy issues realting to the planned legislation for limited abortion will go to Cabinet next week, and he hopes legislation will be introduced by the summer recess.

Dr Reilly was presented yesterday with the Oireachtas Health Committee report on its recent hearings on the abortion issue.
